100 Gift Cards, $25 each

This weekend, we're spreading extra cheer at Saturday Night Supper at Royal City Mission! In addition to providing a warm meal for those in need, we've purchased around 100 gift cards, each loaded with $25 for Tim Hortons and McDonald's. This small gift is our way of sharing some holiday warmth and care with the city of Guelph. Thank you for your continued support in helping us make a difference!

Winter Clothes for Family

We are grateful to share how your generous tithes and donations have made a difference in the life of a local Ethiopian family in need. Through our outreach fund, we were able to provide $400 for winter clothes, ensuring the family stays warm this season. Additionally, several items from our church’s Boot and Coat Drive were given to them, as they had been arriving at the food cupboard in slippers and blankets. Thank you for your continued support in making these acts of compassion possible.

Train Ticket

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve been able to support many families in need throughout this month of December. One special example is providing a $250 train ticket to help bring a son home for Christmas from university, reuniting him with his family. This is just one of many ways your kindness is making a meaningful difference in the lives of those living on limited incomes in our community.

A Heartfelt Thank you

At Grace Community Church, we are constantly inspired by the generosity of our congregation. This holiday season, we had the privilege of supporting an immigrant family of six—two parents and their four children—as they navigated the challenges of adjusting to life in a new country. Through our church’s outreach efforts, we were able to provide $1,000 toward purchasing winter clothes for the children. These items are more than just warm coats and boots—they are a tangible reminder that this family is not alone and that someone cares.

In response to our support, the family sent us a heartfelt thank you note that truly touched our hearts. They wrote:

"I would like to pass my gratitude and appreciation to you and the Grace Community Church members for your kind generosity that we got great support for my kids' winter clothes. We highly appreciate that. We will keep you all in our prayers. God bless you all for everything. We are speechless about your support for us. Thank you so much, our kids are going to be nice and warm this winter."

Self-Care & Hygiene Products

We are excited to share that, thanks to your generosity, we were able to contribute roughly $1,500 worth of self-care and hygiene products for teens through the Children’s Foundation's Adopt-a-Family program. This donation will help provide essential items to young people in need, ensuring they have the resources to care for themselves with dignity and confidence. A big thank you to our Outreach Team, JUST RIGHT, for purchasing the supplies and making this happen!

Helping a Young Family

We are grateful to share that through your generous support, we were able to assist a young family with a toddler who has special needs, by providing $500 in cash. This donation will help them cover costs for training a service dog to support their daughter, who has epilepsy, as well as other essential health-related expenses.

We encourage each of you to remain vigilant in spotting needs within our community and to submit any applications for assistance here on our JUST RIGHT page. It’s through your eyes and hearts that we hear about these opportunities to serve, and together, we can continue to make a real difference in the lives of those around us.

Christmas Hampers for Two Families

Through the generosity of our church family, we were able to contribute $1,000 to provide two Christmas hampers for families in need through the Children’s Foundation of Guelph Wellington. Each hamper will bring joy and hope to two families, with gifts for their children, ensuring they experience the love and warmth of the season. As a church, we are honoured to share in this opportunity to bless others, making Christmas a little brighter for those facing difficult times. Thank you to our Outreach Team, JUST RIGHT, for making this happen!

Topping Up Food Cupboards

As a church, this December we were blessed to contribute $2,000 to The Seed, $1000 to Chalmers, and $1000 to a vital food program of the Guelph Community Health Centre. With local food cupboards running low on supplies, this donation will help ensure that those facing hunger in our community receive the nourishment they need. Together, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbours.

Supporting A Family In Need

We are deeply moved to share how our church community has come together to support a Syrian refugee family facing challenging circumstances. A mother of four, whose husband is currently on medical leave, has been struggling to pay her bills and is at risk of losing their housing.

In response to her situation, we were able to provide $1,500 in assistance. This support will help alleviate some of the financial pressure and ensure that the family has a safe place to call home during this difficult time.

Our hearts go out to this family, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort through your continual tithes and offerings to the church—your kindness truly makes a difference. 💖

A Helping Hand

We’re pleased to share that we were able to provide $500 in cash assistance to a woman who has been caring for her elderly parents during a challenging transition. Recently, she moved into her parents' condo to help them prepare for nursing care, putting her own apartment and furniture in storage.

Now, she has found a small apartment of her own but faces significant financial strain from driving her parents around, maintaining the storage unit, and hiring movers. Despite these challenges, she remains focused on serving others and has not been connected to a church or other support networks.

A little boost from our community can make a real difference for her during this tough time. Thank you for your continued support in helping those in need! 💛

Community Support: Feeding those in need

We had an opportunity to team up with Your Downtown Guelph Friends and the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition to make a difference. With a generous $2,000 donation, we’ll help provide 300 to 400 meals each week in October 2024.

This funding will cover essential supplies like drinks and takeout containers, supporting the incredible work of the Royal City Mission (RCM) in addressing food insecurity.

Thank you to everyone involved! Your generosity is helping nourish our community, one meal at a time. Let’s keep making a difference together! 🍽️❤️

Supporting a family in transition

We’re excited to share how our church community has united to support a mother and her two young daughters as they transition from a women’s shelter into their own apartment. With generous donations from our congregation, we gathered essential furnishings—beds, dressers, a couch, and more—to help fill their new home.

In addition, our Just Right Outreach team allocated $500 to cover a few gaps, allowing us to purchase a bed frame, new mattress pads, pillows, and bedding. This effort involved the dedication of around 11 different individuals and families from our church, showcasing the incredible spirit of our community.

Unfortunately, the move initially scheduled for Labour Day had to be postponed due to an unexpected issue—the apartment was infested with cockroaches! As of September 9, we’re still waiting to move forward, but we’re ready to deliver the furnishings as soon as the family is set to go.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in this project. Your kindness and support make a real difference in the lives of those in need, and we look forward to helping this family settle into their new home soon! 🌟❤️

Mops, Brooms and Vacuums Donated to Women in Crisis

As a church, we were able to make a meaningful contribution to the Guelph Wellington Women in Crisis. We purchased four each of mops, brooms, and vacuums to help support women transitioning into new homes after fleeing abusive situations. While care packages often focus on essentials, household cleaning tools are frequently overlooked. Our aim is to provide these women with the tools they need to create a fresh start in their new spaces. Together, we can make a positive impact on their journeys toward independence and healing. Thank you for your continued support in our mission! 💪❤️
